How shapes work together holds a powerful intrigue for me. My building process is a three-dimensional collage. I take man made shapes seen in buildings and metalwork or the shapes of bones and organs and integrate them into my sculptures. The aim is to produce an abstract composition by responding to these shapes in a spontaneous and intuitive manner. I set a theme for each piece and let it develop during making.
At the crux of what I do is mans discordant or harmonious relationship to the modern world we have created and to the planet from which we evolved. Themes relating to growth, biology, architecture and science are often revisited.
