“My love for the properties of clay fuels my constant hunger for experimenting in different ways with this medium. I create designer tableware, throwing pots and drawing directly into their surfaces to express the environment around me. I experiment extensively with form, subject and technique. This allows me to combine my passions of throwing, drawing and the iconography of architectural cityscape. For instance my ‘Green’ and ‘Ivory’ ranges feature the London skyline, incorporating landmarks such as The London Eye, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Battersea Power Station. My other recent collection ‘The River Runs Through’ shows my experimentation with rugged textures upon the surfaces of the work, mimicking the type of texture which might be found if it were to be dug out of the shores of The River Thames.
I studied at Camberwell College of Art in London where I also worked as part of a collective in a thriving urban pottery in Clapham. It was from this experience that my current style was formed.”
