Emma Jay is best known for her fun and whimsical skinny Heart range of silver and enamel jewellery. This range is characterised by the surface decoration. Emma uses hand carved stamps to create markings in the silver, which are then highlighted with enamel. Emma also likes to apply hidden messages and secrets in her work, inspired by poetry and literature, in order to make each piece of jewellery a special gift for people of all ages. Her ranges vary, and have developed in different ways since she graduated in 1998 with First Class Honors, from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee.
