"I have always collected keepsakes and mementos, physical reminders of people and significant moments in life. Like many others, I am always reminiscing and remembering, I am especially influenced by memories of fragility. And with my recent fascination with Victorian mourning jewellery has lead me to merge the two. With the combination of traditions materials of bone contrasted with the use of contemporary methods such as laser cutting, I create jewellery with narrative subject matters conveying memory snapshots of returning memories of fragile moments we all experience. My use of bone represents inner support we all poses to get through difficult stages in life. And thread used as cold connections emphasises the fragility within people and gives the jewellery a softer side"...
