Michael Badger
Metalsmith / Liverpool
From his Liverpool studio Michael creates sculptures from recycled, brightly-coloured tin containers and other found objects, raising issues dealing with mass-production, Western consumerism and greed.
'Necessity is the mother of invention. I‘ve always had the desire to create and not really able to afford any other kind of materials, it just went on from there.'
Mike also takes alot of the inspiration for his works from the objects that he finds: 'I usually find an object that already resembles something and usually try to enhance that' though he admits that 'I have always had a fascination with sci-fi, robots, old car designs, things like that.'
