Helen Chatterton Artist’s Talk ‘Perfection Of Production’
Tuesday 29th October 2013

1.00 – 4.00pm (arrivals from 1pm for 1.30pm start)

Location: The Athenaeum Club, Liverpool

Tickets : £12.50 each (includes tea, sandwiches & cakes at The Athenaeum Club, Liverpool)

As part of Bluecoat Display Centre’s ongoing programme of exciting artist’s talks, the next event will feature local textile artist Helen Chatterton. Helen will speak about her artistic career in creating fine textiles.

A traditional afternoon tea in the grand setting of The Athenaeum Club will follow the talk!

Helen will be exclusively speaking about her use of textiles including Harris Tweed and other wool sourced from the Scottish Highlands for this showcase. She combines these with different fabrics including a specially printed linen depicting a 19th Century map of Liverpool. Her favourite periods in history are the 1920s 1930s. Many of her colour-ways reflect these period themes.

In addition to her work as a designer, she also teaches a range of classes and techniques such as lace-making and Fair Isle knitting. Helen has also recently taken part in an artist residency at Holly Lodge Girls College, as part of our ‘Making an Impact’ project.

This event is open to current and new subscribing Friends of Bluecoat Display Centre and The Athenaeum.

Booking : As places are limited, to book a place for the event please call Bluecoat Display Centre on 0151 709 4014 or email crafts@bluecoatdisplaycentre.com.
