Mike Badger Workshop

Mike Badger Workshop
Sunday 30th March 2014

Sunday 30th March 2014

Times: 11am – 4pm

Tickets: Full price £45 (or £39 for Bluecoat Display Centre Members, students and people over 60). The price includes materials and light refreshments.

From his Liverpool studio Mike creates sculptures from recycled, brightly-coloured tin containers and other found objects, raising issues dealing with mass-production, Western consumerism and greed.

Using our current ‘Music Makers’ exhibition as inspiration, this workshop will combine Mike’s dual careers as a musician and an artist to guide participants in using recycled materials to make a decorative music inspired tin collage.

Participants should bring tin boxes / cans (Mike will also provide some to use).

Open to all abilities.

Mike says of his work “Necessity is the mother of invention. I‘ve always had the desire to create and not really been able to afford any other kind of materials, it just went on from there. I usually find an object which already resembles something and try to enhance that. I have always had a fascination with sci-fi, robots and old car designs.’‘
