Visit to Manchester Art Gallery & The Whitworth Art Gallery
Thursday 6th February 2020

Tickets £35 each (£32 Friends of Bdc only)

Meet at Bluecoat Display Centre by the College Lane entrance at 9.00am, to depart by minibus at 9.10am and arrive at Manchester Art Gallery for 10.00 – 10.30am for a curator’s talk on the current Jerwood Makers Open Exhibition.

The artists exhibiting were selected from over 300 applications in response to a UK-wide call for entries for self directed projects from artists, makers and collaborators within 10 years of establishing their practice. This Jerwood exhibition was established in 2010 to promote the significance of making & materials within the visual arts arena, seeking to support exceptional skill & imagination.

We will then travel to the Whitworth Art Gallery for lunch at 12.30 to be followed by a curator’s talk at 2pm on the Tapestry Exhibition, which includes work by Paolozzi, Grayson Perry & Marta Rogoyska.

There will also be an opportunity to see the exhibition of Cezanne’s drawing & prints currently on display. The minibus will leave the Whitworth at 3.00pm to be back to Display Centre at 4.30 – 5.00pm.

Coffee will be provided at Manchester Art Gallery, lunch may be paid for individually or sandwiches brought.

For tickets & information please call Bluecoat Display Centre on 0151 709 4014 or email crafts@bluecoatdisplaycentre.com.
